eating the forbidden fruit: an essay

my first proper tattoo (that wasn’t done in a friend’s living room) is a snake and an apple with a bite out of it. As a survivor of Christian fundamentalism it has a lot of meaning to me. The story of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit was one I heard many times over, and it was often used against women. This essay, while it doesn’t mention the tattoo, was inspired by it.
